Chris Clunn started his photographic career in 1978  learning the art of traditional Black  & White archival printing under the wing of master  printer Robin Bell. Whos clients included Donovan ,Bailey  and McCullin ,just to name a few


 In 1984 with these icons as inspiration, he  began to develop his skills as a photographer, working for the Uk’s leading music publication , the NME.


In 1988 he decided the follow interests closest to heart by concentrating on portraiture and  social documentation of  London and British life . Over 30 years later Chris has  an extensive archive of images and  original silver gelatin prints of his many subjects/ folios, studies


Chris’s work is held in the permanent archives of the National Portrait Gallery, The National Library of Wales, The National Monument Archive , The Museum of London , The Guildhall and various private collections


He has 3 books published to date ,

Eels,Pie and Mash,  the history of London’s famous eating houses.

Bummaree, Characters of the old Smithfield Market.

Meirionnydd, Farming in the Old Kingdom


His images have been used in films, advertising ,books  Album sleeves , Television and  have graced many magazine covers.


He is currently working on  various long term collections including Semana Santa Marinera , Y Ring- the  historic cattle market of Dolgellau , The Characters of El Cabanyal ,The  Quarrymen –Slate mining in North Wales and World Trade Centres-Street traders around the globe .
